David Nelson Gill, 48, of Tug Creek passed away at 5:15 P.M. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at home following a short illness.
Born June 29, 1963 at Elk Mills, Maryland, he was the son of James (Nelson) Gill of Pipestem and the late Patsy J. Adkins Gill.

David was of the Baptist faith and lived all of his life in Summers County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, gardening and most all outdoor activities. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone.

He is preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Ann Adkins; one brother, Ricky R. Adkins; paternal grandparents, Pemm and Rachel Gill; maternal grandparents Burman and Emma Adkins.

Besides his father, those left to cherish his memories include Nelson's wife, Doris Gill; one son, David N. Gill Jr. of Hinton; two daughters, Brittany J. (Gwinn) Crowe of Hinton and Robin L. Gill of Hinton; one brother, Roy E. Adkins and wife Ruth of Hinton; four sisters, Delsie M. Brown and husband Alonzo of Hinton, Penny J. Boone and husband Ray of Tug Creek, Bertie Adkins of Ballard and Brenda Moats and husband Vincent of Waynesboro, VA; two granddaughters, Haylee M. and Katlin M. Crowe of Hinton and one very special great niece of whom he thought of as his granddaughter, Kaleigh (Kinky) Brown of Hinton; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews of whom he thought of as his own children, as well as numerous other family members.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating.

Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery at Hinton. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6 – 9 P.M. Friday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Vandall, Charles (PeeWee) Pitzer, Kevin Adkins, Keith Gill, Kevin Graham and Robbie Brown

Honorary pallbearers: Alec Thornsbury, Maverick Longston and Daniel Grimmett
