Charles P. Bray, 82, a director of Wisconsin National Life Insurance Company since 1952 and a trustee of the First National Bank of Oshkosh for over 50 years, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center. Mr. Bray was born in Oshkosh on May 24, 1887, graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1906 and attended the University of Wisconsin. From 1908 to 1912 he was in the lumber and timber business on the west coast, and from 1912 to 1928 served as president and general manager of the Schmit Trunk and Bag Company of Oshkosh. On Dec 4, 1912, he was married to Nina M. Edwards in Oshkosh. From 1934 to 1936 he represented Wisconsin lumber interest under the National Recovery Administration. Mr. Bray was active in civic, religious, and charitable affairs since 1912. He was a charter member of the Oshkosh Rotary Club, and a member of the First Congregational Church, Oshkosh Country Club, Oshkosh Yacht Club, and Oshkosh Power Boat Club. Mr. Bray was a member of the Paine Art Center, and Arboretum, serving on the board of directors since 1952 and was a registered investment counselor since 1939. He was also a member of the Elks Club and the Candlelight Club. Mr. Bray is survived by his widow, two sons, William E. Bray of Milwaukee and Charles P. bray, Jr. of San Francisco, Calif., two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
