William Moore, who was for many years a highly respected and well-known resident of the city, died at his home, 256 Boas Street, this morning from a stroke of apoplexy.

Mr. Moore was born in Donegal County, in the north of Ireland, on March 10, 1829. He came to America in 1855 and located in Harrisburg on February 17, 1861. For many years he conducted a flour and feed business on Walnut Street on the site now occupied by the post office. Later his warehouse was located on Myrtle Avenue, between Boas and Herr Streets.

Mr. Moore retired from business in 1896. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and is survived by a wife and daughter, Miss Sarah E. Moore. The announcement of the funeral will be made later.
