TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Margaret "Peggy" Patterson, 89, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Goshen Care Center in Torrington, Wyo.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 18, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
Margaret was born Jan. 7, 1923, in Pulaski County, Indiana (at home) the daughter of Gus and Tressie (Flagg) Podell. She attended country school for four years and was then bused to Beardstown, Ind. and graduated 8th grade. She then went to High School in Winamac, Ind. Margaret married Howard Bechtold in 1940. The couple had one son. The couple later divorced. She remarried Harold Denny in 1943. They had four children. The couple was later divorced. Margaret later moved to California with her children in 1961. In 1981 she married David Patterson and they moved to Torrington the following year. The enjoyment of her life was having and raising her children. She also liked to work crosswords, read, watch TV and travel. Survivors include her sons, Gerald (Mara) Bechtold and Jack (Sue) Denny; stepson, David (Tammie) Patterson and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Preceding Margaret in death were her parents; her husbands; four brothers; three sisters; two sons and a daughter.
