Elizabetha Deibert
Elizabetha Broeckel was born July 31, 1865, in Peterstahl, South Russia. When a baby, her father, Johannes Broeckel moved to Hoffnungstahl, Russia, and lived there until she got married to Adam Deibert August 12, 1886, they had 11 children. Five died as young children.
In 1888, Elisabetha was baptized in a Baptist church. She suffered from cancer for nine months and died August 29, 1929, in the hospital at Empress, Alberta. She hoped she would meet the saints in heaven when she got there.
She was survived by her husband; five sons, Adam, John, Jake, Chris, Ed, and one daughter, Helen; also ten grandchildren; three sisters, Magraret, Johanna, Katherine; and four brothers, Johannes, Phillip, Adam, and Gottlieb. Her brother Johannes attended the funeral.
Her parents, three brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
She lived to be 64 years, and 29 days of age. The funeral was held September 01, 1929, from Gnadenfeld Baptist Church at Sandy Point, Alberta; nine miles northwest of Burstall, Saskatchewan.
The ceremony was held outside as there were to many people in attendance. Brother C. C. Maier and Brother Heinrich H. Leno conducted the funeral service.
