Dorothy A. Haney, 70, passed away at a local hospital on May 14, 2012, in Gatesville. Funeral Services will be at Denton Valley Baptist Church at 12 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012, with a visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Kendrick Cemetery. There will also be a visitation in Gatesville at Scott's Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2012.

Dorothy was born in Bellflower, Calif., to the late Raymond and Eddie Lee Ham Allen. She lived most of her life in Abilene, Texas, where she retired from the Abilene State School after 22 years. She lived in Gatesville the past 10 years where she was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church. She loved spending time with the Lord, which gave her peace with Him and everyone.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; and four sisters.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Gregory Tennison, of Eula, TX, Julia Steele, of Clyde, TX, Shane Nixon, of Abilene, TX, and David Tennison and wife, Stacey, of Gatesville, TX; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Rosie Franklin, of Comfort, TX; and many nieces and nephews. K9
