Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Mulvane Chapel at the Methodist Home for Frederick Eaton "Fred" Smith, 99, 1135 College, who died Sunday at the Methodist Home.

He was born Dec. 1, 1876, in Iowa and lived at Wetmore before he moved to Topeka in 1920. He formerly lived at 1118 Plass.
He was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church 56 years and was a 75-year member of both the Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star. He was a member of Siloam Lodge No. 225, AF&AM, Scottish Rite bodies, and Beulah Chapter No. 34, Order of Eastern Star.

He was married to Clara Huff June 25, 1922, at Wetmore. She died in 1971. he also was preceded in death by three sons and a daughter.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Smith, Portland, Ore.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Siloam Lodge No. 225, AF&AM, will conduct graveside services at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lowman United Methodist Church building fund, 4000 Drury Lane, 66604. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
