Death Glibert Brawner Jr.
Services for Gilbert Brawner Jr., of Route 2, Waynesville, Mo., are set for 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home. Rev. David Thomas, pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, will officiate. He will be assisted by Kirk Dana.
Internment will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
The family has designated the Heart Foundation as appropriate for memorials.
Mr. Brawner died Wednesday in the Veteran's Hospital, Columbia, Mo. Born Feb. 14, 1936, in Clinton, he attended grade school in Enid, and graduated from Seminole High School. Mr. Brawner attended Oklahoma State University and played football while in high school and in college. He was retired from the U.S. Army. Mr. Brawner was stationed in Germany, Korea, and England while in service.
His mother died in 1972.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert A. (June) Brawner Sr., 670 N Beard; and one sister, Mrs. Michael (Martha) Baird, Houston, Texas.
