Mrs. Brawner died at 1 a.m. Sunday in a Shawnee hospital following a long illness. Born Aug. 13, 1902, in Sulphur, she graduated from Elk City High School and attended the University of Oklahoma and Phillips University in Enid. Mrs Brawner was married to Gil Brawner on June 1, 1935. They lived in several towns in the mid-west where her husband was manager for the C.R. Anthony Co. Following Mr. Brawner's retirement with 42 years of service with C.R. Anthony Co. they came to Shawnee three years ago.
Survivors include her husband, Gil Brawner Sr., of the home; one son, Sgt. Gil Brawner Jr., Ft. Leonardwood, Mo.; one daughter, Miss Martha Brawner, Houston, Tex.; and one sister, Mrs. Glenn Whitley, Norman, Ok.
