John Thomas Parrish was the third of nine children born to Needham H. Parrish & Harriett Anne Beck. He married Sallie L. Hoffer Dec. 23, 1886. Their children were Emma, Johnnie, Marion Elizabeth, Henry Lee, Charlie Needham, Willie Eugene, Joe Bailey, and Gussie Ann Parrish. Some time after Sallie's death in 1909, he moved his family to Big Spring, TX and married Mina Purdy. They owned & operated a "motor court," known as Cottonwood Courts, and a "mom & pop" grocery store at the time of his death.
