The third son born to Johnnie N. Parrish & Josie McElroy Parrish, he married Frances Marie VanKirk, August 1, 1953 in Fort Worth, TX. They had one child, a daughter, Lisa Gail. He was a career soldier in the U.S. Army, serving his country in both the Korean & Viet Nam conflicts. Trained as a Green Beret and medic, he achieved the rank of staff sargeant before losing his life for his country. He was promoted to Master Sgt. during the time he was listed as MIA.
