As her parent's first child, she was named 'Mary Ann' after her Father's mother, 'Harriet' after her Mother's mother, and 'Rebecca' after her Father's sister, who died young.
On May 26, 1898, she married Daniel Ingram Helms in a ceremony held in her parents home at the Holloway Bridge on Yellow River in Covington County, AL. [Marriage recorded in Marriage Book A, page 110, Covington County Courthouse, Andalusia, AL.]
They had nine children, all boys. Two died as infants, then her son Wesley b. ca 1906 d. ca 1910, and her youngest son, James Curtis b. Sept 1910, d. 9 Jul 1926 at age 16. Their other five sons lived into adulthood.
Her obituary was published on Feb 13 1913 in THE ANDALUSIA STAR NEWS
"d Mrs Ingram HELMS, 31 yrs on Friday, buried in Blue Springs on Saturday, survivors husband & 5 children." However, it is inaccurate in that she was not buried in Blue Springs, she was buried at Enon Cemetery where many of her ancestors, kin, and several children were buried.
Her husband later was buried beside her to her left in an unmarked grave. She has a tombstone. Her two infants, her young son Wesley, and her youngest son, James Curtis Helms, are buried (in that order) to her right in unmarked graves. Her son Dallis Ingram Helms and wife are buried further to her right in the same row. Dallis has a tombstone.
Her parents and 3 of her grandparents are also buried in Enon Cemetery, as well as some of her siblings, some of their children, and their spouses and other kin. The burial place of her Father's father remains unknown, other than that he died in Coffee County, AL.
