Raymond Bailey

SPRINGFIELD — Raymond E. "Ray" Bailey of Springfield died May 6 of cancer. He was 77. At his request, no service is planned.

He was born Feb. 22, 1935, in Springdale, Wash., to Reuben and Edna (Free) Bailey. He married Patricia Mermilliod on Nov. 23, 1985, in Eugene.

He served for four years with the Navy as an atomic veteran testing nuclear bombs in the Pacific. He worked and taught in the electrical field for most of his adult life, eventually retiring from Eugene Water & Electric Board after many years working as the foreman of the electric meter shop.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry of Ore­gon; three daughters, Cheryl, Teresa and Julie, all of Oregon; a sister, Carol of Washington; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements by Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield.
