William Adkins, Dies at Age 52
William "Willie" Adkins, age 52, R. 1, Mooreland, IN, died Friday morning in Caylor-Nickel Clinic at Bluffton following an extended illness. He was born January 4, 1918 in Elliott Co., KY, the son of Elliott and Dicie (Hill) Adkins.
William had been a resident of New Castle and Henry County since 1947. He was an inspector at Chrysler Corporation and was a member of the North 14th St. Church of God.
William is survived by his wife, Lannie Adkins; two daughters: Delpha and Wilma, at home; two sons: Delbert Lee and Roger, at home; sister, Mrs. John (Vennie) Hill of New Castle; five brothers: Anthony & Russell Adkins, both of Olive Hill, KY, Hobert Adkins of Sandy Hook, KY, Rufus Adkins of Knightstown and Okie Adkins of New Caslte; his father, Elliott Adkins of Sandy Hook, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; a sister; and a brother.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Brown Road Church of God with Brothers William Lewis and Woodward Doolin officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at Macer Funeral Home after 7:00 p.m. Saturday. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before the service.
