Services for Mark Alan Phipps, 52, who died Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at home, will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 12 at the Norwalk Christian Church with burial following in the Norwalk Cemetery.

Mark was the son of Richard and Ilene Phipps of Norwalk. Born in Boone, IA, the Phipps's moved to Norwalk shortly after Mark was born. Mark was energetic little redheaded boy loved by all who knew him. During high school he wrestled, played baseball and ran track.

After high school, Mark got his degree in Education and married Deb Whewell. Their children, Mitchell and Jessica, were the lights of his life. He enjoyed nature, fishing and studying wolves. He touched the lives of many youth.

He is survived by his children, Mitchell and Jessica Phipps; siblings Susan (Bill) Tell, Joel (Rhonda) Phipps and Jennifer Orr; nephews, Dan and Adam Tell; and several cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 11 at the Norwalk Christian Church.
