Rose Charlotte Peterson Christensen Nov. 3, 1900- April. 18, 1947 was the second of three daughters born to Edward Peterson and Sena Husby (Norwegian immigrants). She was born in Kenmare, ND.
Although Rose was her given name she went by the name of Charlotte. She was baptized on Ap. 4, 1901 and confirmed Sept. 19, 1915 in Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Kenmare, ND. She graduated from the 8th grade on May 26, 1915 and was awarded a certificate for never being tardy or absent. She graduated from High School on June 12, 1919. She taught at the No. 2 District No. 46 Spencer Township. Then she attended Minot Normal School and taught at Spring Valley School, No. 3 Dist. No. 34. Each summer she attended Minot Normal School. She was active in her church, sang in the choir and had a lovely strong voice. She also participated in Kenmare High School singing groups.
Charlotte married Christian August Christensen on June 23, 1923 at Zion Lutheran Church in Minot, ND. He was the son of Lars Christensen from Aalborg, DK and Louise (Loise ) Lisette Dorthea Augusta Walther from Viborg, DK (Danish immigrants). Her husband was the proprietor of the Kenmare Dry Cleaning Company. Chris also farmed. They lived in Kenmare, Crosby and then Fargo for 2 years. They then purchased a dairy ranch near Steavensville, MT where they lived a few months before moving to Minot, ND in the fall of 1946. Charlotte died at the age of 46 from Uremia with contributory chronic nephritis . Charlotte and Chris had four children all were born in Kenmare except Curtis who was born in Crosby, ND.
