VIETNAM∼Alwyn Bruce Christensen was the youngest of four children ( Eldon, Curtis, Constance, Alwyn) born to Christian August Christensen and Rose Charlotte Petersen. He was born Aug. 23, 1939 in Kenmare, Ward County, North Dakota. Died July 8, 2015 in Huntington Beach, CA.
His paternal grandparents were Lars Christian Christensen (1859-1936) and Louise Augusta Dorthea Lizette Walther. His maternal grandparents were Edward Peterson and Sena Husby.
He graduated in 1957 from High School in Seattle, WA . He enlisted in the Navy from 1957-1963 and was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba . After the navy, he went to work for Western Airline in Anchorage, Alaska as a ramp baggage handler. There he met Andrea, a single mother with three children who was from Alaska. He wanted to go to Aviation Mechanic School and so he transferred to Los Angeles. The further training did not happen; he continued to work on the ramp. Times were very difficult for Andrea managing the three little children without the support of her parents close by and they divorced. Bruce continued working for Western Airline which was purchased by Delta Airlines.
In 1976 Bruce remarried in Huntington Beach, CA to Patricia "Patty" Laurel Berg b. Sept. 8, 1944. She also worked for Western Airline as a reservationist at the Western Club.
