Items of Interest Picked up at the County Seat.
Mrs. Phoebe Eldred Starr died in Chicago May 9th. She was born Jan. 18, 1812, at Lawrence, N. Y., and came to Porter county in 1832. She was married to Ruel Starr in 1834, and the couple lived on a farm two miles east of Valparaiso, settling there before Porter county was organized. Six children were born to the couple, and all are dead except Mrs. James McGill.
