Mrs. Mildred Newman, 63, of Gladwin, died Tuesday following a two year illness. A lifetime resident of Gladwin County, the former Mildred Barrows was born here one April 21, 1899. She was married to Charles Newman in 1918.
Survivors include her husband, Charles W.; three sons, Charles (Tug), Walter and John, of Gladwin; four daughters, Mrs. Agnes Breault and Mrs. Jessie Wade, of Gladwin, Mrs. Betty Anderson of Harrison, and Mrs. Rose Sprague of Lake George; a step-brother, August Cole, of Detroit, a half-brother, Harvey Barrows, and a step-sister, Mrs. Pearl Diltz, of Grand Haven; and 20 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Briggs officiating. Burial is in Highland Cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 11-14/1962 Column – 2 Page – 1.
