Mrs. Arthur Hilderbrandt, life-long resident of Gladwin, died early Friday morning of injuries received when the car in which she was riding with Alex King Tuesday night overturned on the M-18 corner west of Gladwin.
The accident occurred when a tire came off as the car was going around the corner. The car, a light pick-up, overturned, pinning the occupants underneath.
Mrs. King suffered a fractured spine. Little hope had been held for her recovery.
King, driving the car, was badly injured, but will recover. He had three ribs broken, a wrist dislocated, and a collar bone fractured.
Two boys riding in the rea end of the car, Arthur Hildebrant (son of the deceased), and Elmer Newman, escaped with only slight scratches and minor injuries.

Elizabeth Harriet Barrows was born September 13, 1884, at Gladwin and was married in 1904 to George Hilderbrandt, who died in December, (Continued on page 8) 1929, and has lived her entire life in and on farms near Gladwin. Two daughters, Mrs. John Greaves of Gladwin and Mrs. Lila Burrows of Flint; three sons, George of Flint and Robert and Arthur at home survive her.
Services were held at the Free Methodist church November 5 at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. D. A. Hoenshell, followed by burial at Highland cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. George Hildebrandt and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Burrows of Flint were here, called by the illness will go to Flint to make their home with their brother, and death of their mother. The two boys, Robert and Arthur, at home. Gladwin County Record dated 11-9/1933
