Geraldine Alexander Boyd, 84, a resident of Prairieville, LA, died January 18, 2012.
She was born July 10, 1927 in Pricedale, MS. She was the daughter of Freddie Herbert and Willie Marie Boyd Alexander. She was a member of Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge for over 25 years.
Her family referred to Mrs. Boyd as a loving wife, mother and grandmother that loved to cook and take care of her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Lee Boyd; grandson, Jared Boyd and brother, A.G. Alexander.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Brenda and Donnie Smith of Mountain View, AR, Nolan and Wanda Boyd and Johnnie "Marty" and Karla Boyd of Prairieville, LA; one sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Bobby Sartin of Flowood, MS; one sister-in-law, Delores Alexander of Pricedale; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is from 5PM until 8PM Friday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb and continues again on Saturday from 1PM until services at 2 PM with Rev. Tito Gonzalez officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Baptist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dalton Boyd, Davin Boyd, Richard Boyd, Chase Rainey, Chris Boyd and Gordon Hoapili.
