God in his infinite love called to his heavenly home Grethel Adams on Saturday, November 4, 1944. Grethel was born to Ray and Oma Casey on December 8, 1914, at their home near Iberia. She attended her local grade school until graduating and in the year 1929 she entered Iberia Academy, from which she graduated with the class of 1933.
Her childhood days were sweet and happy, her kindness and friendship were enjoyed by all her young companions and schoolmates, and this can be attributed to her with her many friends in later life.
She was married to one she dearly loved, Loran Adams, on March 4, 1933, and to them were born two children, Leon age nine years and their baby, Ann, age eight months.
She leaves to cherish her dear memory, her husband and the two children, father and mother; one sister, Mrs. Glee Duncan, of Cole Camp; one brother, Glenn Casey, who is now serving his country with the armed forces somewhere in Italy, and many relatives and friends who loved her as their own.
Her religious faith was with the Baptist denomination, in which her membership has been with the Iberia church.
The body lay in state at the funeral home from Sunday, Nov. 5th, to Wednesday, Nov. 8, where several hundred of her friends came to pay their last respects. Funeral services were held at the high school auditorium Wednesday afternoon, November 8th, with Prof. G. Byron Smith and Rev. Merle Bandy officiating. The music and songs were in charge of the Baptist Church. Burial was in the Iberia Cemetery.
