Mr. Williams was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Corsicana to James Thomas and Mary Hodge Williams.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and Castillian Lodge of Canton. After serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, Hoss began his 40-year career in law enforcement as a DPS highway patrolman. He served for 22 years as chief of the Canton Police Department before retiring.
Hoss was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Stanley Williams.
