"Mrs. Julia Schelmandine, widow of the late Reuben Shelmandine, passed away at her home in Jefferson on Saturday at 10 a. m., aged 82 years. The cause of death was a complication of diseases and a general breaking down. She had only been confined to her bed for two weeks. Deceased was born in the town of Blenheim and had been a resident of Jefferson for nearly 50 years, where her death will be greatly deplored by a large circle of friends. She was a consistent member of the M. E. church. She is survived by one nephew, Jay Morehouse of London, and one niece, Miss Julia Morehouse of this village.
