Bob was born in Mineral where he lived until joining the Army in 1944. After discharge, he entered the University of Washington. In 1947, he married Bonnie Sanders in the Little Church on the Prairie in Lakewood, Washington. Shortly after their marriage, he joined the General Mills Feed Division, living in Washington, California and Idaho. When the Feed Division was shut down, he moved with his family back to Washington.
He worked as a carpenter for a short while before joining X-Cel Feed Company, where he remained until suffering a debilitating stroke in 1981. He died 5 years later.
