World Champion Wrestler. Born Roy Everett Chick, he was a college football star at the University of Dayton, Ohio, before starting his professional wrestling career in 1926. Adopting a cowboy gimmick for most of his career, he was very popular for his scientific wrestling style. On December 14, 1936, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he defeated Leroy McGuirk for the World Light Heavyweight Championship, which he later lost to Hugh Nichols on April 28, 1937 in Oklahoma City. Bobby often shared a card with his younger brother, Duward, who wrestled as "Dude" Chick.
