World champion wrestler. He was a collage football star at the University of Dayton, Ohio, before starting his professional wrestling career in 1946. He was very popular for his scientific wrestling style. On April 3, 1937, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he defeated Leroy McGurk for the World Light Heavyweight Championship, which he lost one month later.
