A retired railroad technician and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 2:34 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 73 and a native of Port Allen.
Religious service at Christ Baptist Church, La. 190, Port Allen, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Phillip Joseph. Interment in church cemetery.
Survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Connie W. and Adam Keys, Paulette W. and Hosey Rogers, Paula Washington, Linda and Sam Koomson, Dawana W. and Kennith Morgan, Eursla W. and Joseph Lewis, and Carlita Anderson; sons and daughters-in-law, Calvin Washington, Booker T. Jr. and Stephanie Washington, Timmie and Shandra Washington, and Kirk Anderson; stepson and wife, Eugene and Mary Ann Dorsey; four sisters, Mary Thornton, Gertrude Whitfield, Nellie Watkins and Thelma Morgan; 31 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Washington; parents, Jack and Lillie Washington; brother, Jack Washington III; sister, Rosetta W. Brown;
daughter, Patricia Ann Washington; five nephews and six nieces, and a loving companion, Ernestine Green 1954-2008.
