J. Victor Berglund, 67, 877 Pavone street, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday at his home. He had been ill with a heart condition for the past two years.

Berglund was born July 9, 1891 in Manistee, Mich., and had resided in this community for the past 50 years, where he was a foreman at the Benton Harbor Malleable Industries for many years. He was also a veteran of World War I, having served in the Navy, and was a member of the American Legion post No. 105, and a life member of the Benton Harbor Elks lodge No. 544.
Mr. Berglund is survived by his wife, the former Lydia Vielehr, whom he married Oct. 11, 1919, in Benton Harbor; a daughter, Mrs Robert (Margaret Ann) Flaherty of Watervllet; a son, James of Watervliet; a brother, Oscar Berglund of Detroit, and three sisters, Mrs. Albert Schimtke, and Mrs. Helma Johnson, both of Detroit, and Mrs Alma Nametz of Benton Harbor; Five grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Fri day at 2 p.m. at the Florin funeral home, with the Rev. H. Raymond Voss, associate pastor of the First Congregational church, officiating The Benton Harbor Elks lodge No 544 will conduct ritualistic services at the chapel. Burial will be in the Garden of Devotion section of North Shore Memory Gardens.
