FORT KENT - James Lamarre, 57, died May 30, 2005, at his residence. He was born Aug. 2, 1947, in Soldier Pond, the son of Hubert "Hubie" and Dora (Doustou) Lamarre. Jim was a member of the VFW Lozier O'Grady Post No. 9609 and the American Legion Post No. 133, both of Fort Kent. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and softball player. Jim was best known for his fly-tying.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Berube) Lamarre of Fort Kent; one son, Jamie and his wife, Jessica Lamarre of Wallagrass; two stepsons, Shawn and Jason Thibodeau of Eagle lake; one stepdaughter, Bobbie Jo Thibodeau of Fort Kent; three sisters, Marilyn Hannerham of East Grandy, Conn., Betty Riccardi of Darby, Mont., and Carol Theriault of Fort Kent; one granddaughter, Kathleen "Kate" Lamarre; two stepgrandsons, Tyler and Austin St. Peter; many aunts, uncle, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, in Fort Kent and 8 a.m. Thursday until the time of departure for Soldier Pond. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Soldier Pond, with the Rev. Bill Labbe officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Soldier Pond. (Bangor Daily News 6/1/2005)
