SOUTH BEND -- Wilma Ruth Aldridge, 73, of Northside Boulevard, formerly of Riverside Drive, South Bend, passed away on Sunday, July 1, in Memorial Hospital.
She was born on February 23, 1934, in Sparta, Mo. to Benjamin H. and Anna H. (Whitsett) Braden, who preceded her in death.
On September 12, 1952, in Harrison, AR, she married Chester (Chet) S. Aldridge, who died November 23, 1996.
Ruth is survived by a son, James E. (Natalie) Aldridge; three grandchildren, Jason M. Roncz, Brittney and Jordan Aldridge; a great-grandson, Michael Roncz; brothers, Red (Bessie) Braden of Sparta, MO. and Jack Braden of Seattle, WA; and by a sister, Betty Spohn of Arizona.
Ruth retired from Qualex, Inc., South Bend, as a supervisor for over 20 years.
She was a member of Howard Park and Battell Center Euchre Clubs. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren and loved following East Side Little League Baseball.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 5, in the Hickey Funeral Homes, 17131 Cleveland Road, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until services. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger.
