Dorothy Creel Godfrey JOHNSONVILLE, SC - Dorothy Creel Godfrey, 90, passed away Friday Dec-ember 14, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Godfrey was born on December 24, 1921 in Georgetown county, a daughter of the late Lonnie Otwell and Edith Perry Creel. She was married for 54 years to the late Joshua Lee Godfrey. Surviving are her child-ren, Carol Collins and special friend Ron Poston of Florence, Betty (Don) Elliott of Sumter, Pamela (Charles) Little of Lenoir, NC, Nancy (Eddie) Parker of Hemingway, Debra (Glenn) Parrish of N. Myrtle Beach, and J. L. (Barbara) Godfrey, of Johnsonville; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grand-children. Mrs. Godfrey was pre-deceased by a son, Terry Godfrey; brothers, Mayo, Willard and Carl Creel; sisters, Marie Campbell and Janice Bruce; half-sisters, Lottie Kelly, Josephine Raftelis, and Nina Cox; half-brother, Ernest Creel. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday December 16, 2012 in the Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 PM till 2:30 PM Sunday and after the service. The family wishes to thank McLeod's Hospice of Florence and Carol Collins for the loving care given to Mama Godfrey during the completion of her life's journey. And special thanks to Janet Haney Carolyn Baxley and Barbara Osborne.
