Mrs. Ellen R. Lederway Urdegar, 62, entered into rest on Monday, April 30, 2012 at her residence.

She was Jewish and a native of Brooklyn, NY and lived in Savannah for seven years.

She was educated in Long Island, NY private schools. She graduated from Florida International University with a Masters Degree of Science English in Speakers of other Languages, New York University with a Master of Arts Degree in School Education, Health , Nursing and Arts Profession, and Fordham University with a Master of Business Administration.

She was an educator for the Savannah Chatham Board of Education and taught Spanish at Savannah Arts Academy.

Survivors are: her husband, Samuel L. Joyner of Savannah, GA, one brother, Ivin Lederway of North Carolina, step children and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, 816 Bowden St., Savannah, GA. Rev. Alphonso C. Piper, Sr., Pastor. Rev. Lewis Johnson, Officiating. Interment ~ Monday May 7, 2012 at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.
