Henry Christian Andrew Harmon Young was born in Saxony, Germany and immigrated to America in 1817. He settled in Union Township, Pennsylvania. German school master in Mifflinburg, also a minister, farmer, and most notably a fraktur artist. Henry young is known for 13 different styles of fraktur paintings, his "man & woman with wine glass" and "anchor ladies" being two of his most recognizable. He resided in Mifflinburg, Muncy Creek Township, Adamsburg (now Beaver Springs), Aaronsburg, Gregg, & Penn Townships. He was active as a fraktur artist from 1817 to 1861 producing numerous birth, baptismal and marriage pieces.
