Born in Bulloch County, Mr. Jones had lived in Savannah for 50 years. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. He retired from Great Dane and served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. Mr. Hones was preceded in death by a son, Donald Jones.
Survivors: wife, Dorothy Jones of Savannah; son, Emory Jones of Statesboro; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Coley Cooper of Bloomingdale; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herman Jones of Metter and Harman Jones of Buford; two sisters, Mattie Coleman of Savannah and Rebecca McCorkle of Statesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 30 at the Central Baptist Church in Garden City.
Mr. Jones will lie in state from 1:00-2:30 p.m. in the Church.
The family will receive friends in the Church social hall from 1:00-2:30 p.m.
Burial: Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Bulloch County.
