MR G. T. CRAWFORD

The late Mr George Thomas Crawford, of Forth, was the son of the late Mr and Mrs William Crawford and was born at Ross in 1861, being in his 90th year at the time of his death. At an early age he moved with his parents to Spalford, where he lived till he took up land at Kindred. While there he married Margaret, the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Edward Gillam, of Carrick.

Two children, George (Kindred) and Vera (Mrs R. Yaxley, Kindred), were born of the marriage. His wife pre-deceased him 11 years ago.

Moving from his farm at Kindred, he purchased a grazing property at Forth, where he lived until the time of his death. He took a keen interest in sport, and in his younger days was particularly keen on horse-jumping. A keen cricketer, he umpired at matches till a few years ago. He was recognised as a grazier of high repute, his fats being looked upon as the best by all butchers on the Coast.

The funeral services at the home and at Forth Cemetery were taken by the Rev A. J. Blanksby, the carriers being four grandsons in Messrs M. and P. Crawford, G. and K. Yaxley. Chief mourners were the son, daughter, son-in-law, and brother (Mr Harry Crawford, Penguin).

Among the floral tributes were those from the Forth Cricket Club and W. T. Bell and Company.
