Schuyler Buell Brandt was the eldest child of Schuyler Coe and Salie Eunice (Wilbur) Brandt. Schuyler graduated from Oak Park High School in Oak Park (a classmate of Ernest Hemingway)and from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY in 1920. He married Marjorie Hammond Greene in April 1924 in Chicago, Ill. They had two sons: Schuyler Buell "Dod" Brandt and Kent Hammond Brandt. Schuyler's early death was due to an automobile accident caused by a drunk driver (a Mr. Ross).
