Williamstown, July 23 -- Hermon E. Allsop, 58, a member of a prominent Williamstown family, died this morning about 4:30 at his home on Mount Pleasant, following an illness of about two years. Born at Jewett City, Connecticut, he had lived in Williamstown since he was eight. For many years he was employed as a chauffeur for summer residents of the town and was widely known in this area. Besides his widow, Mrs. Amy (Brady) Allsop, visiting nurse for the Williamstown Welfare Association, he leaves two brothers, Raymond K. and Harry J., and four sisters, Mrs. George Grundy, Miss Edna M. Allsop, Mrs. Bessie A. Thompson and Mrs. Ralph C. Mason, all of Williamstown. The funeral will be hald Monday afternoon in St. John's Episcopal Church, of which he had been a member for many years. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery.
