John Haggerty, a prosperous farmer of this township, died at his home, two and one-half miles south of town, Sunday, aged 65 years. Mr. Haggerty came here from Canada 35 years ago and was highly respected. He leaves a family of grown up children to mourn his loss. The funeral was held in the Congregational Church in White Rock, Wednesday morning and was largely attended.
John Haggerty was the son of William Haggerty and Mary Rusehel. He married Mary Ann Edwards, daughter of James Francis Edwards and Anne/Anna Lucas in 1867. John was born in March of 1842 and died Nov. 3, 1906.
One of John's daughters was Elleln Haggerty, who married Edmund Cowper.
