Virginia Beach - Ann Markow Pugh, 90 of Virginia Beach passed away peacefully in her home January 27, 2012. Born in Wilmington, Del., Ann married Harold D Pugh and moved to Virginia in 1953. Ann was a devoted member of Community United Methodist Church, and Kempsville Garden Club. For over twenty five years, Ann was the Catalog Manager at Uniway of Tidewater and loved working with the many members and friends. In retirement, Ann enjoyed the beauty in God's creations of her flowers and garden. She loved and enjoyed being with her family, especially her great granddaughter, Taylor. Ann was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, always without question placing the joys and needs of her family before her own. Ann is predeceased by her parents, Eva and Andrew Markow; sister Marie Bolinski; brothers Steve and John Markow. Ann is survived by her loving sister Stella Thomas and brother Paul Markow, and wife Mary Lou of Delaware; daughter Nancy P. Lichty, and husband Peter; her son, Timothy H. Pugh, and wife Tammy, Grandson Chad Franklin, and wife Jennifer, and great granddaughter Taylor, all of Virginia Beach; and dear friend June Kelley of Chesapeake.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Tue., Jan. 31, 2012 at Altmeyer Funeral Home 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 1 at Community Methodist Church, 1072 Old Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach. Internment immediately following at Rosewood Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Ann's Life at her home following the funeral services.
