Scott S. Short
Scott Sylvester Short, 68, died at his late home on a farm between Hillside and Gray Station at 5:10 a.m. today following a long illness. Born in Loyalhanna September 20, 1880 he was the son of the late Peter and Lucy Allison Short. He had resided at his late residence for the past 64 years. Most of his working career was spent around the various coal mines in Derry Twp. but he was last employed as a watchman for the Graystone Quarries at Gray Station. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Shirey Short; four sons, Norman, Chester, Wilbert and William, all of Hillside; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Kellerman of Hillside and Mrs. Edger Boring of Dayton, N. Y.; 24 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and the following sisters: Mrs. Bert Spangler, of Derry; Mrs. William Jenkins of Hillside; and Mrs. Della Devers of Blairsville RD 3. Friends will be received at the late home until time for funeral services to be announced later. Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery.
