GRACE WELBORN KING, Greenville
Grace Welborn KIng, 37 Waters Ave., died Thursday at her home. Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late Walter L. Welborn and Fannie Boyce Welborn. A graduate of Newberry College, she had a distinguished career as a teacher of mathematics at Parker High School and Greenville Technical College. She was an active member of the Cathedreal Community Church and the Tremont Avenue Church of God Prayer Band.
Surviving are her husband, Norman K. King, Sr.of the home; a daughter, Billie Jo Roberts of Houston, Texas;four sons, Joseph Shular of Seattle, Wash., James Branton Jr.
of Moncks Corner, Norman King Jr. of Columbia and Bret King of Greenville;two sisters, LuLu Norris of Waterloo; a brother, Gene Welborn of Greenville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services 4 p.m. today at Gray Mortuary Chapel in Pelzer with the Rev. Bill McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
