Peggy Amber Ivey, age 77, of Allisonia, passed away Monday evening, April 23, 2012 at LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski.

Born July 11, 1934 in Gaston County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Ira Wray Carnes and Elsie Pauline Jackson Carnes.

She is survived by her husband, James Cecil Ivey III, Allisonia; children and spouses, Vicki McCarter and Bobby Armstrong, Clover, S.C., Sherri McCarter and John Mizell, Clover, S.C., Chris H. and Cathy McCarter, Clover, S.C., Melissa McCarter and Neil Phillips, Clover, S.C., Traci McCarter and Larry Venezia, Clover, S.C., James C. and Angie Ivey IV, Charlotte, N.C., and Marion and David Almonds, Suffolk; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and brother and sister-in-law, Eddie Wray and Linda Carnes, Gastonia, N.C.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 27, noon, at Farris Mines Christian Church with the Rev. Dennis Trail officiating. Interment will follow at Farris Mines Church Cemetery, Allisonia.

The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
