UPDATE FROM SCOTT FISH:
"The Journal-Telephone", Milton Junction, Wisconsin, Thursday, Jan. 3, 1918, p 1.
Barak B. Keith was born at Canandaigua, Ontario County, N. Y., November 4, 1838, and died at the home of his son, George B. Keith, Milton Junction, Wis., December 26, 1917, at the ripe age of seventy-nine years, one month and twenty-two days.
Twelve weeks ago Mr. Keith suffered a severe attack of lagrippe (aka the Spanish flu), which developed into pneumonia and resulted in his death.
He came to Wisconsin March 1, 1860, where he has resided ever since. January 1, 1863, he was united in marriage with Lucy A. Buten of the Town of Milton, who preceded him to the better world July 30, 1909, since which time he has lived with his son, George's family, who have done everything, not only to make "father comfortable" but to make the latter part of his journey of life, when bereft of his companion, as bright as possible.
To Mr. and Mrs. Keith four children were born: George B. Keith, Milton Junction, Wis., Willie, who died in infancy, H. L. Keith, Mukwonago, Wis., and Mrs. Edna L. Frietag, Watertown, Wis.
e also leaves eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Keith was not so demonstrative as some, but was never found wanting when a kindly act was needed; he was a good citizen and by nature very industrious, and until his last sickness was remarkably active. Since his declining years forbade his following his trade of a painter steadily, his garden has afforded him a pleasant pastime. He was a patient sufferer, always solicitous for those caring for him, and when the end neared was reconciled to death. Funeral services by the Rev. W. D. Hamilton were held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, and interment was made in the Milton Junction cemetery.
