He was born at Sommerset County, Pennsylvania July 27, 1809 and married Miss Mary Mariatte. They had eleven children, two killed in war and nine still live. Two, Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Clark live at North Yamhill, others live in Ohio. Mr. Knight lived many years at Athens, Ohion and came to Oregon six years ago.
He was a member of the Christian Church. His wife died in December; he then lived with Mrs. Cox. Burial was held at Naylor Cemetery with Rev. John Parsons officiating.
