A native of Moulton, he had lived in Center Point for 72 years and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Presbyterian faith, and one of the most beloved and respected citizens of the community in which he had spent most of his adult life. His wife died in 1957, and since that time he had divided his time between the son's home in Center Point and that of his daughter, Mrs. M.A. Rambie, and her family in Uvalde.
In addition to his two children, he is survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
