Mrs. Nancy Van Etta King.
Canajoharie. May 29.—Mrs. Nancy Van Etta King, one of the oldest and most highly respected residents of this village, died quite suddenly yesterday afternoon about 1:30 o'clock. She had been in remarkably good health, considering her advanced age, but of late had not been able to leave her home. Yesterday morning she had spent the most of the time sitting out on the porch of the home of her daughter, Mrs. Egbert Schoonmaker, with whom she lived. She ate a hearty dinner and again went out on the porch with her knitting. Later her daughter missed her and after searching about the house, found her in her room dead beside her bed. She had apparently sustained a stroke of apoplexy and death was probably instantaneous.

Mrs. King was born in this village and would have been 85 years of age had she lived until the 14th of next month. Her husband. Charles King, has been dead for a number of years and she had made her home with her daughter on the farm east of this village and of late years in the village. She was a very fine old lady, kindly, home-loving and devoted to her children and her church. She was the oldest member of the Methodist church of this village and was greatly beloved by all in the community.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Schoonmaker, who resides on the state road between Palatine Bridge and Nelllston; Mrs. Egbert Schoonmaker and Mrs. Edward Shrader, of this village, and three grandchildren.
