Mildred was born August 16, 1919, in Provo, Utah, to James King Pierpont and Mary Anna Schmidt Pierpont. She attended Brigham Young High School, graduating in 1936. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University in 1941. She married Carl Dubendorf Ulmer in Salt Lake County the day after Christmas in 1944. He died May 10, 1947. On July 27, 1969*, Mildred married David Edison Cotner in White Pine County, Nevada. Mildred Anna Pierpont Cotner passed from this life July 26, 2015, in Reedsport, Oregon. She was 94.
On May 17, 2021, the ashes of Mildred and her second husband, David Edison Cotner, who passed away in 2020, were buried and share a headstone in the same plot as her first husband, Carl Dubendorf Ulmer Jr., in Provo City Cemetery.
