She was survived by their children, Melanie J., Mary K., Russell E., and Rebecca A.; eight grandchildren; a brother, Glen Hanks; and two sisters, Alice Jane Foor and Marlene Foor.
Mrs. Karns was a member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren. She was a member of the first graduating class of Northern Bedford County High School, Class of 1964, being one of the students who attended their full Senior year at the new building, after moving from the Robert P. Smith School. She worked as a line and grill cook in Breezewood for many years at the Perkins Family Restaurant, previously part of the Union 76 plaza. Jeannie enjoyed her family, friends, grandchildren, cats and computer.
