Lillian Mae (Potter) Vedder-Rasbach


Ilion - Lillian Mae "Lilly" (Potter) Vedder-Rasbach, 83, of Mohawk Homestead, Mohawk, passed away May 9, 1985 in Mohawk Valley General Hospital. Lilly was born on Oct. 4, 1901 in the town of Herkimer, the daughter of Elvie and Jennie Mae Potter. She was first married in 1920 to Mr. Ira Charles Vedder in Herkimer, New York Christian ceremonies, a marriage that fell just two moths short of thier Golden Wedding Anniversary. The Lilly and Ira Vedder marriage was blessed with four children. Ira passed away in October 1970.


Aged 73 Lilly and aged 77 Mr. Harold Leroy Rasbach were married August 22, 1975, a marriage as reported by The Evening Telegram newspaper "...proved that two people are never too old to be married as they took their vows Sunday Afternoon at London Towers, Ilion, New York." Harold passed away in 1983.


Lilly is interred in the Vedder Family Plot at Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer, New York, to the right side of her beloved first husband Ira C. Vedder.
